Mission Statement

The Anti-Racism and Reconciliation Ministry of the Southeast Regions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the US and Canada is called to be a liberating ministry that transforms the Church, community, and culture through education, direct service ministry, advocacy, and faith-based organizing thereby strengthening and revitalizing the life and witness of congregations and Regions.

Vision Statement

The Anti-Racism and Pro-Reconciliation Ministry will be a Christian ministry movement that transforms the Church (denomination) and the Community.

Theme/Text

Disciples establishing anti-racist, pro-reconciling churches and communities by putting love into action (based on 1 John 3:18)

Belief Statement

The liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ can transform people, the Church, institutions and systems of oppression, and the overall culture.

Measurable Ministry Goals

To develop and increase leadership and pastoral skills among SERF’s members for transformative ministry that addresses the needs of marginalized and underserved communities.

To build organizational capacity and effectiveness of the SERF Anti-Racism and Pro-Reconciliation Ministry.

To develop and excel at transformative education and the creation of a multicultural, anti-racist environment in the eight regions of the Southeast Regional Fellowship.

To increase community ministry and engagement of churches through transformative ministry opportunities and development that seek to address the needs of marginalized and underserved communities in the areas of education, economic justice and development, and health and wellness.
